Rafflesia The largest flower on Earth. It was discovered by Louis Deschamps in Java between 1791-1794, but his notes and illustrations, seized by the British. Later Rafflesia was found by Dr. Joseph Arnold in 1818, it was named after Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles (the leader of the expedition). This rare flower found in the Indonesian rain forest.

Flower is a parasitic plant, it has no leaves, roots, and stem.The plant attaches itself to a host plant(vine) to obtain water and nutrients, We can see only one part of the plant the five petaled flower. In some species of the plant like Rafflesia arnoldii, the flower may be over 100 centimetres (39 Inch) in diameter, and weight up to 10 Kilograms (22 lbs). R. baletei, the smallest species of this flower has 12 cm of diameter.
